Our Mission
Our mission is to be a supportive community that promotes organ, cornea and tissue donation awareness, and to assist patients and families involved in transplantation.
Our History
Second Chance at Life Kentucky started in the late 1990's as a group of volunteers with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates. The group consisted of:
-
Pre-Post Transplant Recipients
-
Donor Families
-
Living donors
-
Caregivers

Originally we met at the KODA office downtown at 106 E. Broadway on the 2nd Sunday of the month. In 2000 , DONATE LIFE AMERICA nationally formed their own group called: DONATE LIFE AMBASSADORS, which still exists today in Kentucky. At this time our group could become DONATE LIFE AMBASSADORS or start our own volunteer group which we did.
Second Chance at Life was created with many members also remaining DONATE LIFE AMBASSADORS while founding this group. Our mission has always been to promote organ, eye and tissue donation awareness and be a support group to any and all people related to TRANSPLANTATION. Second Chance at Life is like a family of kindred souls who care for each other . We currently meet at the Network for Hope (KODA) building at 10301 Linn Station Road, Louisville, Ky. every 2nd Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in person or by ZOOM.
